| Cindy was first introduced to D'Lites products in 1989 when she joined a weight loss program that held meetings two doors down from the D'Lites in Plantation, Florida. When she met Mike and found out he loved ice cream but wouldn't eat much of it because it was unhealthy, she took him to D'Lites. He fell in love with the ice cream (and Cindy, too) and they were both frequent visitors of the store from then on. After Mike and Cindy married in 2003, they were trying to find a business to start that would take them out of South Florida. They did some research and decided a D'Lites would be a perfect fit for their talents and passions, and they opened the first D'Lites in Gainesville in September 2004. Their goal was to be able to make a comfortable living, slow down from the rat race in South Florida, and support local causes and organizations through donations, fundraisers, and any other way possible. |
